Several people were injured in multiple collisions on Highway 21 on Friday (May 12) morning.

The crashes were reported on the highway near Township Road 520 just before 7 a.m.

Police say that two drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other drivers were taken by the county bus to Millennium Place in Sherwood Park.

The highway has since reopened. The cause is believed to be low visibility due to wildfire smoke.

Strathcona County RCMP continues to investigate the collision.
