It was a hard fought few games in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) finals.

The Fort Saskatchewan U18 AAA Straightline Dodge Rangers were playing the Calgary Buffaloes in a best-of-five series.

Calgary won the first two games in the series before going into game three on Wednesday (Mar. 23) at the JRC.

The Buffaloes managed to put two between the pipes during the first and second periods. Brett Boucher got Fort Saskatchewan's first goal early in the third but Calgary scored again shortly after.

Fort Saskatchewan pulled their goalie with about three minutes left and the Buffaloes scored one more time. The final score was 4-1 for Calgary.

This win meant the Buffaloes are this year's provincial champions and the Rangers were awarded silver.

The Rangers will be back on the ice again in April for the Mac's Tournament.
