School buses cancelled due to icy roads

The icy roads have local school divisions concerned about safety.

Elk Island Public Schools cancelled all 160 of their buses Wednesday morning (Dec.8). The school division said on social media it is possible the buses will run in the afternoon if road conditions improve and they will continue to monitor the situation. A decision will be made before noon.

Elk Island Catholic Schools cancelled all their buses as well and Sturgeon Public Schools said none of their buses will be running for the entire day.

Schools are still open for learning.
