Several football teams saw their provincial dreams end on Saturday (Nov.20).

Sturgeon Composite, Salisbury Composite, and Ardrossan Junior-Senior High School all represented the Heartland at the provincial semi-finals on Saturday.

In the Tier I division, the Salisbury Sabres faced off against the St. Francis Browns, losing 18-0.

The Sturgeon Spirits were shut out in Tier III against the Holy Rosary Raiders, 43-0. The Spirits knew they were up for a challenge going into Saturday’s game as they had suffered a tough loss to the Raiders during the same game in 2019.

Also shut out were the Tier IIII Ardrossan Bisons, who lost 39-0 to the Sexsmith Sabres. The Sabres finished the season at the top of their division.

The provincial finals get underway this Friday and Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.
