The Rudolph Hennig Junior High Parents Association has reached $86,393.19 for a new outdoor recreation area after receiving a $25,000 grant from the Province.

Association Chairperson Lisa Spray explains "The former outdoor area was removed three years ago."  Spray says "The reasoning for the picnic tables and benches is because they are the only public junior high in Fort Saskatchewan and students don't have a many places to sit for lunch."  Spray explains "Right now there aren't have a lot of places to have lunch with students filing out into the hallways."

Spray notes "Last year we did landscaping and installed picnic tables and an asphalt multi-use sports court for basketball, hockey or more."  Spray adds "We're now planning to install a double tire swing, two outdoor ping pong tables, benches and more picnic tables in the front."  Spray concludes "Phase three will be revamping the small outdoor courtyard in the centre of the school."
