Police have found a Fort Saskatchewan man wanted for violent offences. 

On May 20, the RCMP say a woman was held captive in a residence for multiple hours and assaulted by Jason Hipson. The victim is in her 50s and has severe injuries to her entire body. 

When someone showed up at the home, Hipson reportedly took the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered in Sherwood Park. 

The 45-year-old was arrested on May 27 in Sherwood Park

Hipson is facing charges that include sexual assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, aggravated assault, and stealing a vehicle. 

He was convicted of several offences between 2005 and 2007 in Nova Scotia including robbery, sexual interference and sexual assault.  

A police helicopter, the K-9 unit and officers were included in a search for Hipson.
