Mounties are looking for a man with possible connections to Lamont.

On Jan. 21, Saskatchewan RCMP charged 52-year-old Michael Jackson with one count of abduction in contravention of a custody or parenting order. Additionally, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police are also asking for help locating his daughter, seven-year-old Sarah Jackson, who is believed to be with him.

Sarah is described as Filipino/Caucasian; she is 4’2” and weighs 76 pounds with long, waist-length brown hair. She has brown/hazel-coloured eyes and last had teal-coloured eyeglasses that she wears most of the time.

“Sarah, we want you to know that you are not in any trouble,” said chief superintendent Tyler Bates, the officer in charge of the Saskatchewan RCMP South District. “Your mom misses you very much, and we have police officers doing what they can so you can see her again soon.”

Since Jan. 5, when an enforceable court order was issued, several tips and reported sightings of Michael and his daughter have been followed up on to no avail. It is believed some people may be aiding or assisting him in evading the police.

Police say the criteria for an Amber Alert is not met at this time.

Michael is described as a 52-year-old man, weighing about 250 pounds with blue eyes, dark brown hair and he typically wears glasses. Michael resides in the Carievale, Saskatchewan area and may have connections in the province to Dilke, Oxbow, Alameda, and Regina. Also, nearby Lamont.

He does not have a known vehicle.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two is asked to call the Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267) or (306) 780-5563. You can also contact your local police or Crime Stoppers at 1‐800‐222‐TIPS (8477).
