An upsetting discovery was made in the North Saskatchewan River.
On Saturday (May 7), a vehicle was found abandoned by the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP. A body was later found in the North Saskatchewan River, at around 1:30 p.m. Police say these incidents are connected.
The body was recovered near the Vinca Bridge, south of Redwater. The Redwater RCMP and Strathcona County RCMP, with help from fire services, did the retrieval.
Police say the death is non-suspicious.
Following an investigation, the person has been identified and the next-of-kin notified.
No further information will be released.
