Two people were arrested after an incident earlier this month.

On July 3 at around 11 a.m., the Redwater RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at a rural property in Thorhild County. One suspect was still in the area and was arrested when police arrived. An investigation was then started, with Mounties eventually identifying a second person involved and a suspect vehicle.

At around 7 p.m., officers spotted the vehicle, which was being driven by a suspended driver. They also found stolen property from the break and enter site in the vehicle. The driver was promptly arrested.

Phillip Bass, a 40-year-old man from Sturgeon County, has been charged with breaking and entering committing theft and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Geordie Wilson, a 33-year-old man from Thorhild County, has been charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit theft, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a release order. Wilson has been arrested several times for break-ins, thefts and causing mischief.

Wilson appeared in court a few days later and was released from custody on house arrest. Bass was released after his arrest on an undertaking.

Both have a court date set in Fort Saskatchewan on Aug.12.
