The investigation into an armed robbery on Wednesday (Apr. 13) is ongoing.

Around 9:01 p.m., an unknown man entered the lounge of the Brant Hotel in Fort Saskatchewan, fired a black shotgun and demanded cash. He stole an unknown amount of money before shooting the gun a second time and fleeing the scene in a grey Honda sedan.

One man was injured but was released from the hospital shortly after.

Over the weekend, police have been conducting interviews with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area. They are also following up on some tips they received through Crime Stoppers.

RCMP is asking for people with any information regarding this case to come forward. They are specifically looking for witnesses to the crime or anyone with dashcam footage in the area of 100 Avenue and 103 Street around 8:45 p.m. that night.

Mounties are also still looking for the suspect. He is described as being between 5'8" and 6' tall and weighing about 200 lbs. He has a medium build and was wearing a black jacket with white lettering, sunglasses, a balaclava, a black baseball cap and faded blue jeans.

More information is expected to be released in the coming days.
