Police are investigating what they're calling "deliberate mischief" to a tipi.
On Tuesday (Oct.19), at around 10:45 a.m., the Smoky Lake RCMP received reports of a tipi that had been damaged on the grounds of Vilna School.
According to Mounties, an investigation found that an accelerant had likely been used to spread the fire.
The tipi suffered significant damage and, as a result, will not be safe for use by the school or the community.
Anyone who may have information about the damage is asked to call the Smoky Lake RCMP at 780-656-3550 or Crime Stoppers.
Vilna is located approximately 130 kilometres northeast of Fort Saskatchewan.
