The Strathcona County RCMP is investigating the death of a 38-year-old-man in Sherwood Park. 

Tuesday (Mar. 29) afternoon at 1:17 p.m., Mounties received a 911 call about a vehicle fire on Range Road 224 just south of Wye Road. The car was fully engulfed in flames once police and emergency services arrived. 

Once the fire was extinguished, police found human remains inside the vehicle. 

“The circumstances surrounding the 38-year-old male’s death remains under investigation by Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS),” police said in a release.  

The man has been tentatively identified, and his next-of-kin has been notified. 

Police are looking for anyone who saw any vehicles, including a black Dodge Journey, in the area of Range Road 224 south of Wye Road between 12 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
