A team policing operation has resulted in numerous arrests.
Last Wednesday (Dec.8), members from the Strathcona County RCMP and the ALERT Human Trafficking Counter Exploitation unit joined forces for an operation targeting prostitution in the area.
During the operation, 10 individuals were arrested. Each was charged with one count of obtaining sexual services for consideration and were released on conditions they appear in Strathcona County court on Jan.19.
"This successful operation was initiated as a result of intelligence-led policing initiatives, and it reinforces the RCMP's commitment to reducing harm in the community of Strathcona County," wrote the Strathcona County RCMP in a release.
According to the Canadian government, obtaining sexual services for consideration involves an agreed-upon payment for sexual services.

The names of those those facing charges has yet to be released.
