More information has been released about the incident at Suncor Energy Wednesday (Mar. 30) morning.

The company said around 6:40 a.m., a fire broke out at their refinery in Sherwood Park. Sirens went off, and the plant was quickly evacuated. 

In a Tweet, Strathcona County said there was no threat to public safety.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire, and Suncor said everyone was accounted for. However, one person was injured and had to be taken to the hospital. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
