Police believe poor road conditions played a factor in a deadly collision on Friday afternoon (Dec.24).

At 1:45 p.m., the RCMP, military police, firefighters and other emergency services responded to a head-on crash on Highway 28, about two kilometres north of the Anthony Henday.

Police say a southbound car lost control and hit an SUV driving in the opposite direction.

The only person in the car died on the scene. The driver of the SUV, who was also the only occupant, was taken to hospital.

No other information was provided.

Road conditions were in fair to poor condition in the region during the incident.

The incident was the second fatal collision on Highway 28 since Wednesday.
