Police have laid charges related to a shoplifting incident.

On the morning of Nov.19, 2021, RCMP received a report of a man and woman who stole a number of items from a business in Thorhild.

According to police, the pair entered the shop together, then the man left the store and went to a parked vehicle. After getting assistance in the shop, the woman left without paying for items and met the man waiting in the car.

In mid-December, Mounties requested public assistance to identify the pair and locate the suspect vehicle. On Dec.23, the Redwater RCMP charged two suspects with one count each for theft under $500.

Ryan Horseman, 38, of Edmonton, was arrested and is scheduled to appear in Fort Saskatchewan court on Feb.17.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Natasha Merry, 32, of Fort McMurray. Merry is described as 5'4", 199 lbs with a fair skin tone, blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Redwater RCMP is asking the public's assistance in locating her. Anyone who has information is asked to call the Redwater RCMP at 780-942-3607, your local police, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The vehicle that was used and the attached license plate were also recovered in another RCMP jurisdiction, according to police.
