Your heart of gold stopped beating, your working hands can rest. The legacy of love you leave us is the very best.

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, Mike Gaumont Sr., passed away peacefully, at the age of 70. After battling through many years of heart complications, and recent cancer diagnosis, Mike went to be with God during a walk with his wife and dog, and a backyard visit with neighbours. He will be forever loved and fondly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty years, Betty, his children; Bonnie-Lynne (Justin), Michael (Jill), and Brad, and five grandchildren; Sam, Justyne, Michael, Kaylen, and Lily.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by so many others; including his five surviving sisters (Elaine, Leah, Carmen, Pauline, and Lorraine), many sister and brother in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, dear friends, neighbours, and cherished kids that adopted him as “Papa Mike”.

Many loved ones wait for Mike in heaven, including his parents, Roland and Josephine Gaumont, and sister, Joanne McEwen.

A private funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Angels Parish, Fort Saskatchewan, on Wednesday, April 21 at 11:00 am. Reverend Father Kris Schmidt will be the celebrant, with interment following at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, only immediate family members are able to attend. Those wishing to view the service online may do so by Livestream through Facebook at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.

If desired, donations may be made to the Fort Saskatchewan First Responders Unit, Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital or the Mazankowski center, University of Alberta Hospital.

We are forever grateful for the care and compassion Dad always received from the many health care professionals.
