It is with heavy hearts that we share that, on August 18, 2021, after a lengthy battle and despite her stubbornness and strength throughout it all, heaven received another angel.
Mary-Ann is survived by her husband and soulmate, Brian; her children and stepchildren (or as she lovingly called them, rats), Megan (Colin), Alan (Tamara), Airin (Brent) and Leah (Travis); and seven grandchildren, of whom she was immensely and immeasurably proud. Precious to her were her nephew Tyler (Sumin) and her friends from every community in which she lived, including her Redwater Girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorn and Amy Hallett, and her siblings, Stephanie Trotter and Doug Hallett.
She was the light in any room, and the laughter you could hear down the hall. She was the music to our ears and the beauty in our world. Her loving legacy will live on in the art she created and the time she spent with those she adored. Though we know her physical presence has changed, she still very much surrounds all of us with her love. And for that, we are blessed.
Given today's ever-changing COVID landscape, a gathering will be held to celebrate her life in the New Year. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the University of Alberta Hospital’s Alberta Transplant Institute. Another means of acknowledging and honouring her life would be to register as an organ donor —a cause so very dear to her, and to all of us.
