You may have noticed a green piece of paper in your mailbox over the last two day and its all thanks to the 200 plus volunteers going door to door from the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. These volunteers are making sure every household gets the information, although if you live in an apartment you can go directly to the food bank Saturday.
Christine Stockly explains what its all about " We know that Fort Saskatchewan is very caring and giving community. We are hoping to make a difference this year stocking up the food back, with all of you're support we are hoping to break a record this year, last year we got 4500 pounds and this year we are hoping to get 6 to 7 thousand pounds. We know this can happen with all of your help"
Suggested items they are looking for are canned foods: Fish,meat,pasta sauce,soup,beans,stew,chilli,tomatoes,fruit and vegetables. Other items required are: pasta,rice,mac&cheese,peanut butter,granola bars,cold cereal,baby formula,100% juice boxes,hot cereal,shampoo and conditioner.
They are that nothing perishable and to place your food donation with the green flyer received in the mail to the bag of food on your front step, and to be sure it is visible from the road.
