A U18 AAA game over the weekend caused its fair share of controversy.

Game two of the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) finals between the Fort Saskatchewan Straightline Dodge Rangers and the Calgary Buffaloes went into triple overtime. Buffaloes forward Kaiden Witsie took a shot that hit the post and bounced back out, but the referee called it a goal, and Calgary won the game.

The Rangers filed a protest with the league and it was denied. The matter is now considered closed.

Down two games in the best of five series, the Rangers will have to win the next three games to win the series. Their next game is Wednesday night (Mar. 23) at 6:15 p.m. at the JRC.
