Local singer-songwriter Joe Nolan has postponed several shows in the wake of the disaster unfolding in British Columbia.
Nolan, who recently released a new album, was planning to embark on a tour with stops in Chilliwack and Kamloops this weekend.
"Prayers to all those affected by the BC and the flood. Sadly, we had to postpone these shows. That seems to be the only safe option," he said in a post to social media.
"Stay safe, friends, and I will keep you posted on new dates."
Early in the week, heavy rains in British Columbia caused devastating floods in large areas, washing away highways and other critical infrastructure.
As of Wednesday morning (Nov.17), all highways connecting Vancouver and the rest of Canada are closed in both directions due to the floods and landslides.
