Have you made your Easter plans? 

For the first time in two years, friends and family can meet without public health restrictions on the long Easter weekend. 

Here's what's happening in and around the heartland: 

Strathcona County Egg Hunt 

The Park Church is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt at Broadmoor Lake Park. Over 50,000 eggs will be hidden to gather; there will also be a kid's craft area, a free throw challenge with the Edmonton Stingers, Famous Donair, The Easter Bunny, Petting Zoo, plus lights and sirens from the RCMP and Community Peace Officers. 

The event also includes some “Golden Egg” prizes and free coffee. 

Date: Apr. 16 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Egg Hunt begins at 10 a.m. - racing start. All other activities are available till 2 p.m.) 

Location: Broadmoor Lake Park, Sherwood Park. Street parking is available in designated areas or first-come, first-served at the Kingsman Leisure Centre.

Easter Loonie swim at Harbour Pool 

Hop over to Harbour Pool for an Easter Loonie Swim Saturday afternoon. There will be an easter bunny on-site for photos, giveaways and door prizes. 

Date: Apr. 16 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. 

Location: Harbour Pool, 10001 94 Ave, Fort Saskatchewan

Downtown Business Council Easter Egg Hunt  

The Fort Saskatchewan Downtown Business Council is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday afternoon. Look for the poster with the big bunny at participating businesses. 

Date: Apr. 16 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 

Location: Downtown Fort Saskatchewan 

Price: Free 

Easter Petting Farm at Prairie Gardens 

Head over to Bon Accord for a private animal experience at Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm. Prairie Gardens has sheep, bunnies, and baby goats. Each animal experience is private and comes with a guide who will show you how to pet, feed, and interact with the animals. The animal experiences last about 20 minutes, giving you time to enjoy the train and playgrounds. 

Date: Prairie Gardens is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. over the weekend from Friday to Holiday Monday. You can book your family in for a private animal experience in one-hour time slots.

Location: 56311 Lily Lake Road, Bon Accord 

Price: $25 per person ages three and up. Ages two and under are free. The pass includes farm entry, train rides, bale mazes, animal viewing, playgrounds and a $5 voucher for anything at the farm.
