The City of Fort Saskatchewan is getting ready to host Forward Together: Indigenous Peoples Day in Fort Saskatchewan

On Jun. 21, you can see a variety of performances from Indigenous dancers, musicians and speakers.

"We have been very lucky to work with local Indigenous partners and representatives from the Métis Nation of Alberta during the planning stages of this event," said Jessica Weller, the culture and heritage supervisor for the City of Fort Saskatchewan.

Here is the order of events beginning at 6:30 p.m.:

  • A local drumming circle
  • Fiddle and country music - performance by Zachary Willier
  • Métis Jigging
  • A concert by Phyllis Sinclair

"Our hope for this event is that we can bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to celebrate Indigenous cultures and histories in a fun and celebratory environment."

This event will run until 9:00 p.m. and will be held at the Normandy Room at the Community Hall (9964 93 Ave)

Forward Together is free to attend.
