An earthquake in western Alberta was felt across the province.
 
The 5.0-magnitude earthquake was detected around 9:23 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct.20), about 37 km northwest of Rocky Mountain House. It is reportedly the second-largest earthquake ever in the province.
 
Despite being about 139 km away from Edmonton, residents in Fort Saskatchewan felt shaking from the event. According to the Government of Canada, the Edmonton area is where they received the most reports from people feeling tremors.
 
No damages have been reported as a result of the incident.
 
The depth of the quake was about 10 km.
