A local linebacker is heading to the CFL.
On Monday (Feb.21), the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced a handful of roster additions, including Fort Saskatchewan's Justice Momoka.
Momoka grew up in the city and played for the Fort Falcons before representing the Fort Saskatchewan High School Sting. After graduation, he played four seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, playing in 20 collegiate games.
The 6'2", 210 lb linebacker notched 62 career defensive tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, three sacks, one interception and two pass breakups over his time as a Golden Bear.
Training camp for the CFL gets underway on May 15. The first pre-season game will be on May 23 between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
