The City of Fort Saskatchewan ordered an evacuation of a condo complex Friday morning (Aug.2).
Engineers and city officials determined the building was "structurally unsafe."
Occupants of 9930-100 Avenue began evacuation at around 8 a.m. Residents were allowed to go back inside to collect anything they may need, provided they have an escort from municipal enforcement. Fort Saskatchewan's Incident Management Team, Red Cross and Alberta Health Services were on-scene.
The building is a four story, 44 suite residential unit. The adjacent building, 9932-100 Avenue, is unaffected.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan recently issued an update on the situation.
