A popular summer event is making a comeback.
Fort Saskatchewan Cruise Nights will return each Wednesday evening, beginning May 4.
The informal meet-up group began last year and quickly grew in popularity.
“It's amazing when you start scratching the surface, and we have these Wednesday night shows; guys start pulling up, and they’re giving me comments like ‘God, I’m glad you got this going,’” said Dan Baranek, local car enthusiast and Cruise Night organiser.
Baranek explained he’s always been interested in old vehicles and wanted to share his passion with others in the community. The group has turned out also be an excellent resource for people looking for recommendations on parts and paint jobs.
Additionally, the group has been a great way to meet people. Baranek explained that the group is welcoming to everyone, adding a wide range of people, young and old, come to the weekly meetups.
“Pull up with whatever you’re driving, whether it be a bike, a car, new, old, doesn’t matter.”
Meetups will take place Wednesdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. from May 4 until Oct. 12, weather permitting. They will be located on the west side of the parking lot at the Real Canadian Liquor Store off Southfort Drive and 86th Avenue.
