Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the region.  

Much of northern and east-central Alberta, including Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Edmonton, and surrounding areas, could see wind chill values near –40 C to –45 C Tuesday (Jan.18) evening.  

The extreme wind chill is expected to improve early Wednesday afternoon.
