A goalie from Bruderheim had her first taste of Olympic hockey action.

Emerance Maschmeyer is one of three women's goalies for Team Canada at the 2022 Bejing Olympic Winter Games. Maschmeyer got her first start on Sunday night (Feb. 6) against Russia.

The game started later than scheduled due to delayed COVID-19 test results from the Russians. The teams eventually agreed to have players from both teams wear masks during the game.

Maschmeyer stopped 11 of 12 shots, helping Canada win 6-1.

Their previous two games ended in a 12-1 win over Switzerland and 11-2 against Finland.

Team Canada is back in action on Monday night -- they are playing Team USA at 9 p.m.
