A cyclist was killed in a collision over the weekend. 
 
Just before 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov.6), the Morinville RCMP were called to a crash involving a cyclist and a semi-truck on Highway 28 at Range Road 233, just outside of Gibbons. 
 
According to police, the semi-truck was travelling west on Highway 28 when the cyclist attempted to turn into the north shoulder going west on the highway. While turning, the bike was struck by the rear tire of the truck. 
 
The cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries but later passed away. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt. 
 
Police continue to investigate the collision.
