Alberta Health Services (AHS) has made a correction.
AHS previously reported 12 COVID-19 related deaths in Morinville and are now reporting 11. No reason was provided for the update. However, in a conference on Tuesday, Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr Deena Hinshaw explained they reviewed their death count and removed 14 deaths off the list as they were not deemed to have COVID-19 as a contributing factor to their passing.
For the local case count, the first number is active cases on Tuesday (Apr.27), while the second is the updated total for Wednesday:

- Fort Saskatchewan: 116 cases - 117 cases
- Sherwood Park: 341 cases - 337 cases
- Strathcona County: 74 cases - 75 cases
- Sturgeon County: 97 cases - 89 cases
- Morinville: 38 cases – 37 cases
- Lamont County: 22 cases - 19 cases
St. Luke Catholic School is now under alert status (2-4 cases). St. Andre Bessette is currently reporting two cases of the virus but has not yet been placed under alert.
Provincial update
There were 1,839 new cases reported in Alberta over the last day, bringing the total number to 20,938. Of these, 13,193 are variants or about 63 per cent of active cases.
Currently, 643 people are in the hospital, with 145 in the ICU. Six more deaths bring the province's fatality count to 2,073.
To date, 1,449,922 doses of the vaccines have been administered.
