It's a family affair for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Fort Saskatchewan brothers Colton and Kirby Dach are now playing for the same NHL team.

Colton was taken 62nd by the Blackhawks in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

"I'm extremely excited for Chicago, and that they called on me," said Colton.

The 18-year-old, who played for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers from 2015-2016 and 2018-2019, stands at 6'4" and weighs 204 pounds.

That impact was felt during the abbreviated WHL season where Dach played at a point-per-game pace for the Saskatoon Blades. He tallied 20 points in 20 games.

Colton's older brother, Kirby, was selected third by the Blackhawks in the 2019 draft. He's had an impressive start to his career with the club, scoring 33 points in 82 games over his first two seasons. Kirby missed the majority of the 2020-21 season with a wrist injury.

The Dach brothers won't be the only siblings with Chicago, Caleb and Seth Jones were also recently paired up with the team.

Three players from Fort Saskatchewan have been selected in the first two rounds of the draft. Earlier, goalie Sebastian Cossa went 15th to Detroit and the Anaheim Ducks took defenceman Olen Zellweger at 34th
