The Town of Bruderheim is trying to sort through a one-of-a-kind situation.
They're stuck deciding how to figure out who has the authority to declare a fire ban in town.
With the new regional fire services being based in Bruderheim, the town lost their exclusive fire service; now, administration has been tasked with adjusting the fire ban rules to accommodate the unique situation.
"Likely, the bylaw will contain something where Bruderheim would call a fire ban for itself," explained mayor Karl Hauch.
"We wouldn't be automatically calling a fire ban just because Strathcona or Lamont [Counties] did."
The rewritten bylaw should be in front of council soon.
