The Minor Midget AAA Rangers fought to the end but were edged by the Edmonton Centennials 4-3 at the JRC last night.
Xavier Halterman scored a pair of goals in the 1st and 2nd and Nathan Gottselig scored the final goal of the game in the 3rd.
Coach Derek Hemsley says they played a really well team game. Hemsley notes he was very impressed with how the Rangers bounced back from being down 4-1. Hemsley says they started off strong, but had one mental error and an unfortunate power play goal against which led to a goalie change which seemed to lift the teams' spirit. Hemsley adds after giving up a power play goal at the start of the 2nd, they played a pretty good game as they came really close to tying it up multiple times.
Hemsley notes they've got more points in 2016 than the entire first half of the year, as they've come together as a team and are now really competitive. Hemsley adds they're showing that even against some of the stronger teams.
While the Rangers remain in last place, they're .500 (2-2-1) in their last five league games.
The Rangers are on the road this weekend in Calgary for a pair of games.
