Movember is an annual event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of various cancers, such as prostate cancer. Movember sees communities  run charity event throughout communities, the goal of Movember is to change the face of men's health. Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths.

Here in Fort Saskatchewan Jim Martin, owner of Jiffy Lube, hosted many events around town to raise awareness and money to bring awareness to men's health issues. According to Martin this years goal was $7000 but after all was said and done just over $10,500 was brought in from their efforts. Martin said this is their fourth year, to date they have raised over $35,000. Martin says he's not surprised by the communities generosity but he is pleased with the results.  

Martin said they are looking for new ideas for next year including a possible charity hockey game, and will be looking at getting some ex NHL player. They are looking at some new slogan ideas and are looking forward to  lot of more fun next Movember.
