Police have arrested a Fort Saskatchewan woman.

On Sunday morning (May 1), at around 6:30 a.m., the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP was called when a bicycle and attached trailer were left abandoned at a business on 83 Avenue and 113 Street.

Officers arrived and found a woman riding the bike away from the business. She was arrested and admitted to entering the business and stealing from it.

When police searched her backpack and the trailer, they found several break-in tools, a stolen propane tank and catalytic converters that had been cut off from vehicles. They learned the bicycle had also been reported stolen.

Amy Gummesen, 41, of Fort Saskatchewan, has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breaking and entering a business
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Failing to comply with a release order

Following a hearing, Gummesen was released on conditions.
