The Fort Saskatchewan Rangers Athletic Club (RAC) is gearing up for a star-studded event.

On Wednesday (Jun. 15) at 6 p.m., the club will host its first annual Alumni Fundraiser Game at the Dow Centennial Centre. Fans can expect to see plenty of former Rangers back in blue, including Kirby and Colton Dach of the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks' prospect and WHL defenceman of the year, Olen Zellweger.

“We’ve been very blessed to have some great hockey players come through the program and support the Rangers over the years,” said Devin Selte, former president of the RAC.

“We wanted to take the opportunity to get some of those players back on the ice so people could watch some good hockey and do a little bit of fundraising for the program at the same time.”

Tickets were $10 but are now sold out. Funds raised will help the club pay for the RAC’s third jerseys, which honour the Fort Saskatchewan Traders, the Fort's old AJHL team.

“We want to ensure that those costs don’t go back to the families that will be playing for these clubs this year.”
