The Fort Saskatchewan U18 AAA Straightline Dodge Rangers are gearing up for the Mac's Invitational Tournament in Calgary from Apr. 6 to 10.

Originally scheduled from Dec. 27 to Jan. 2, the prestigious invite-only tournament was postponed after a surge in COVID-19 cases. The Rangers are one of 24 teams competing from across Canada and the United States.

"You're bringing together the top U18 teams available at that point. It's going to be great for scouts, and it's going to be great for parents. It won't be the same experience, but it will still be a really good Mac's experience," said Rangers' head coach Brett Cox.

The Rangers were knocked out of the AEHL playoffs on Mar. 22 after a 4-1 loss to the Calgary Buffaloes. Calgary won all three games in their best-of-five series, resulting in a silver medal for the Rangers.

Fort Saskatchewan is scheduled to play three games:

  • Apr. 6 at 7:15 p.m. vs RINK Kelowna
  • Apr. 7 at 3:30 p.m. vs Airdrie CFR Bisons
  • Apr. 8 at 2:45 p.m. vs Yale Hockey Academy
